I gazed up at the brightest light
in the west at the fall of night
and to it I felt I should pray
for my dog that I’d lost that day.
Close by the light of Jupiter,
shone twin stars, Pollux and Castor,
I’d never seen them there before
but they were sent to me, I’m sure.
Gemini stars brightly twinkling,
telling me I’d done the right thing
letting my beloved Myschka
reunite with her twin sister.
For me, this echoes deeply on several levels: the stars, the night, the dogs, the memories. Thanks very much for posting.
