On the M25

On the M twenty five
I’m tearing out my hair.
I’m having to sit here
We are going nowhere,
waiting for it to clear.

On the M twenty five
sat under the gantry,
slowly shuffling forward.
It says to do thirty
How can we? Are they mad?

On the M twenty five
I’ve a date with a mate
and I now have a hunch
I will be rather late
for our reunion lunch.

On the M twenty five
Getting worried I am.
I called my schoolmate Sue
“I’m in a traffic jam
and I’m needing a loo.”
