August Bank Holiday is here again:
it is time to get out those big umbrellas,
and be out in those summer dresses.
it is time to get out those big umbrellas,
and be out in those summer dresses.
Children have all got their buckets and spades
and are building sandcastles on the beach:
August Bank Holiday is here again.
and are building sandcastles on the beach:
August Bank Holiday is here again.
But everyone now must run for cover,
as the sky turns a darker shade of grey:
it is time to get out those big umbrellas!
as the sky turns a darker shade of grey:
it is time to get out those big umbrellas!
Then as the sun comes out to shine again
everyone’s glad to sit in the umbrella shade
and be out in those summer dresses!
everyone’s glad to sit in the umbrella shade
and be out in those summer dresses!

Here’s what a cascade poem with a tercet would look like:

“Conflict”
Tonight is perfect for staying inside,
but I’m busy contorting my organs.
For instance, my heart and brain love to fight.
but I’m busy contorting my organs.
For instance, my heart and brain love to fight.
Sometimes, you can see them twist my body
this way and that when it is raining, though
tonight is perfect for staying inside.
this way and that when it is raining, though
tonight is perfect for staying inside.
My lungs breathe heavy and my skin itches
to touch you, to let you know I’m all right,
but I’m busy contorting my organs.
to touch you, to let you know I’m all right,
but I’m busy contorting my organs.
It’s a put off, I know. Losing control
when I’m around you, unable to say,
when I’m around you, unable to say,
for instance, my heart and brain love to fight
