My Golden Birch

boasts the whitest bark that could e’er be seen.
In Summertime she cast a dappled shade
over the vibrant flowers in her glade.
Her silvery green leaves have now turned to gold
as she prepares to face the Winter cold.
She stands proud in a regal tongue of fire
lit by the sun in her Autumn attire.
One last splash of colour’s her final fling
and then she’ll say goodbye until next Spring.
