Spring is on its way!

Spring obviously is well on its way:
Green leaves suddenly are starting to sprout
New cherry blossom pink is on display
White snowdrops hang their finished heads and pout
Everybody feels happy and gay
Yellow daffodils have at last come out.

Famous Last Words!

“When is it going to rain?” I said
“No real rain has fallen for ages.
Only my new plants will soon be dead.”
Yet as soon as I wrote on these pages
the heavens opened and in we sped.
Even now the storm still rages!
