Triquint Poems

My old friend had filled my heart with dread
when to my house she had fled

She was blushing red
and I said
“Well?”

“Caught him with another in my bed
you won’t believe what I did.”

She was blushing red
and I said
“Tell!”

“I aimed a revolver at his head,
he fell down and now he’s dead.”
She was blushing red
and I said
“Hell!”

Triquint poems are difficult to write
and just as hard to recite
If only they went right
then they might
flow.

Sequent verses follow with delight
as I try to keep them light
if only they went right
then they might
grow.

Frequent nightmares during the night
will keep me awake with fright
if only they went right
then they might
go.

with lightning flashes the sky was lit
drops of rain started to spit
and as the storm hit
oh how it
flowed

the wild wind was raging in a fit
a tree bent like it would split
and as the storm hit
oh how it
blowed

snow ploughs were all ready to commit
gritters started spreading grit
and as the storm hit
oh how it
snowed
